Nature of Messages Gathered from January 2020 - January 2021

Out of 859 messages, the category with the highest number of posts was information, followed by self-expression, and plea for help. Therefore, indicating that the members from the Taal Volcano News Update Facebook group would like to inform the public on the latest situation of Taal, express concerns, and request for help.

The majority of the active members from the Taal Volcano News Update Facebook group were females with a total of 219 (49.55%), followed by males with 165 (37.33%), and the remaining with 58 (13.12%) from unverified accounts and groups. 
It is shown that females are more engaging and aware of their emotions compared to men who think from an objective task-oriented point.

The frequency of messages was inconsistent from January 2020-2021. As seen in the graph, February has the mosts posts in the Taal Volcano News Update Facebook group with 272 out of  859 (31.66%) messages that are mostly on information

From January 2020 - January 2021, the posts were constant, however only differ in terms of time. Posts made in the morning range frequently from 6:00 to 11:00, with a higher engagement from 9:00 - 10:00. Messages under this timeframe were mostly on shared information (news and updates)  from PHIVOLCS, regarding Taal's activity status.  
On the other hand, posts uploaded in the afternoon/evening mostly were from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with the most dominant public interaction from 4:00 - 5:00, and 7:00 - 8:00. Most of the messages that fall under this bracket were on self-expression.

The majority of the posts reside around the perimeter of the Taal Volcano- Agoncillo (18.18%), Laurel (16.88%), and Talisay (23.38%), with the predominant frequency. 

Engagement of Messages 

To measure the effectiveness of Facebook in communicating disaster-related concerns, the acquired engagement of the messages under each category were evaluated based on the total number of likes, shares and comments.

Distribution of Messages

The categories were assessed to identify the distribution of the messages from January 2020 - 2021. Which then shows in the result that both information and self-expression are the only constant category seen.
