Phivolcs Records 302 Volcanic Earthquakes
at Taal Volcano Over the Past 24 Hours
PHIVOLCS announced that the Taal Volcano produced at least
302 volcanic tremors in the last 24 hours.
On Saturday, March 27, 2021, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology
and Seismology delivered the most recent reports in regards to Taal Volcano.
The authority has distinguished an expansion of magmatic activity around
the volcano.
PHIVOLCS recorded 302 volcanic quakes including 184 volcanic
quakes with a span of one to 12 minutes. They also noticed ground
deformation and expansion of Taal after its eruption in January 2020.
According to PHIVOLCS, the action at the main crater consisted of weak
emission of steam-laden plumes from fumarolic vents that rose 30 meters.
Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emission that averaged 925 tonnes/day was
measured on March 26, temperature highs of 71.8°C and a pH of 1.59 was
last measured from the main crater lake respectively on March 4 and
February 12, 2021.
